Boca Fit Club 2.0

Boca Fit Club 2.0

Dec 23, 2011

Hey again-

I hope you’re doing great.  I’m coming fresh off an awesome Boca Fit Club holiday party over the weekend where we had a great time and collected a bunch of toy for Toys For Tots!

I’m so stoked to announce this for you today as I did over the weekend the major move literally and figuratively of Boca Fit Club to a brand new club space which is going to offer a TON of new amenities but more importantly a whole new refinished program (one I’ll describe in the upcoming weeks).

But for now I want to talk a little bit about the new club, what to expect, where it is, new session times, new benefits, etc.

1.  More fitness training sessions per day!

Starting January 2, 2012 our schedule will be:

Monday:  6:45am – 7:45am, 8:45am-9:45am, 6:15pm – 7:15pm, 7:30pm-8:30pm

Tuesday:  6:45am – 7:45am, 8:45am-9:45am, 6:15pm – 7:15pm, 7:30pm-8:30pm

Wednesday:  6:45am – 7:45am, 8:45am-9:45am, 6:15pm – 7:15pm, 7:30pm-8:30pm

Thursday:  6:45am – 7:45am, 8:45am-9:45am, 6:15pm – 7:15pm, 7:30pm-8:30pm

Friday:

Saturday:  8:45am – 9:45am

Notice we’ve added 15 minutes to each personal training session making them each 1 hour long!

2.  Bigger Location

Our new address is:

7682 North Federal Highway

Boca Raton FL 33487

A bigger location means more space to workout, more fitness equipment, and new exercises!

3.  Smoothie Bar

Finding a healthy shake is hard to find.  They’re usually pumped with either a ton of artificial stuff or boat loads of sugar.  Finally you’re going to have a spot for delicious, yet still healthy post-workout smoothies!

4.  Childcare

No longer do you have to worry about finding a babysitter for an hour just so you can come workout.  Instead bring junior on as our staff watches over while you burn the calories :)

Those are just some of the benefits you’ll find at the NEW Boca Fit Club!

I’m so friggin excited for you to see all the benefits and can’t wait to get started!  See ya soon!

Boca Raton Fitness Trainer – Best Lower Body Workoout

Hi again -

I’ve been getting a lot of emails asking to talk more about specific exercise routines, so I wanted to share with you one of my favorite workouts.  The best part is this workout needs no equipment and can be done at home, at a park, in a personal training studio or even a local Boca Raton health club.

The other cool thing is that they can be done whether you’re just starting to workout or are an avid sportsman.

The concept goes a little like this….

I’d like you to perform 3 exercises back to back to back.  The idea is to perform the exercises not for repetition like so many people are accustomed to (8 reps, 12 reps, etc).  Instead you’re going to perform as many reps as you can in a certain amount of time.  This is going to insure that you work your body to exhaustion burning more calories in an efficient manner.

Now depending on your skill level and muscular strength, endurance…you’re going to rest anywhere from 15 seconds to a whole minute, got it?

The way you’re going to read the following workout is in an “advanced” form and a “beginner” form.  The workout is the exact same except for the rest periods, so enjoy!

24 minute fat flush workout

Perform the following 3 exercises as many times as you can for a given length of time, followed by a rest (determined by your exercise level), before moving onto the next workout.  You’re going to do a total of 8 circuits or revolutions.

1.  Jump Squat (video seen here)

Advanced : 1 minute of exercise, followed by 20 seconds of rest

Beginner: 30 seconds of exercise, followed by 30 seconds of rest.

2.  Burpees (check out the video)

Advanced : 1 minute of exercise, followed by 20 seconds of rest

Beginner: 30 seconds of exercise, followed by 30 seconds of rest.

3.  Split Lunge Jump (video)

Advanced : 1 minute of exercise, followed by 20 seconds of rest

Beginner: 30 seconds of exercise, followed by 30 seconds of rest.

Repeat 8 times or to failure!

Now here’s the thing.  Always consult with your primary medical doctor before performing these or any exercises.  It’s also a good idea to hire a personal trainer to work with you to insure effectiveness and safety.  So whether you’re working out in a gym here in Boca or Delray Beach, you’re just 15 minutes away from getting in a safe and effective workout!

The User’s Guide To Joining The Right Gym

Hey again-

I understand, for various reasons, hiring a personal trainer isn’t for everyone.  Some people are confident in their knowledge, motivation and work ethic to be able to sign up at a gym, change up their exercise programs, and get the most out of it.

The thing is there are a lot of pro’s and con’s to joining a gym and there are also a ton of Delray Beach health clubs, so I’ve put together a guide to help insure you find the right one!

1.  Take Advantage of a FREE trial

Most health clubs offer anywhere from 1 free day to a whole week to come in and utilize the club and all of its services.  Take full advantage of this.  Take classes to see how you like the instructors.  How clean is the health club kept? Is it crowded during the times you most often will workout?

2.  Read the fine print!

Having years of experience in gyms I can tell you one of the most aggravating thing members experience is a whole host of hidden charges.  A lot of times clubs will advertise really enticing offers like “$10 a month” or “$3 months for $89″.  That sounds great until you find out hidden fees like activation fees, renewal fees, “club improvement” fees, swipe card fees just to name a few.

3.  Check out their history

Aside from the obvious of asking around your friends experiences, these days information is a plenty through various sites like Google Places, Yelp, and The Better Business Bureau.  I know it sounds trivial but you wouldn’t believe how many times I’ve seen “buyer beware” notices on different gyms.=

If you’re looking for specific information on different gyms in Boca Raton or health clubs in Delray Beach feel free to shoot me an email and I’ll be happy to help.

Is It A Good Idea To Hire A Personal Trainer Afterall?

With so many weight and fat loss solutions out there, it’s no wonder why so many people are frustrated with bogus and empty promises.  Unfortunately, those frustrations usually come about from the loss of a ton of cash too!

Ten years ago, heck maybe even 5 years ago the thought of hiring a certified personal trainer was one of luxury.  It was left for celebrities who needed to get into red carpet shape.

Today, though, with the fitness and weight loss industry bringing about so many false promises, consumers are getting smarter and understanding more that for them to lose the weight they want and achieve the look and feel they want…they’re going to have to do it the old fashioned way of strict exercise and nutrition regiments!

Hiring a personal fitness trainer today is more and more common and when you begin to take a look at the true effectiveness of working with them, the money invested in one sure comes out to be well worth it.  There are, however, some pitfalls that you should beware to avoid and here are just a few.  Luckily there are a bunch of Boca Raton personal trainers that are well educated in servicing you!

First, if you go to one of the local gyms in Boca Raton, you’ll notice it’s common practice for them to offer the assistance of a personal trainer.  Be sure to ask for basic credentials like personal training certifications, years they’ve been training, expertise, and of course proof of results!

If you live in Delray Beach and belong to Delray Beach health clubs, you may apply the same strategies. Ultimately, the hiring of a personal fitness trainer is a serious one.  It’s one that when you apply basic strategies to finding the right one, it’ll be the best decision you can make!

For more information on how to find good personal trainers, or even good health clubs and gyms in Delray Beach, Boca Raton or anywhere else in South Florida, a good strategy would be to ask what your friends and others think and have had experience with…a good source would be asking them on Facebook.

Enjoy and good luck finding the right professional to help you get in great shape!

3 Safety Tips To Insure a Great Workout With Personal Trainers

If you’re going to be exercising on a consistant basis, it’s really important you take the right precautions to make the most of your goals.  It’s especially important you have the right fitness trainer too!

There are a lot of Boca Raton personal trainers that can work with you too!

So here below are 3 measures you can take to make sure you’re not only getting an effective workout, but a safe one too!

1.  Make sure you warmup!  The fastest way to pull a muscle is to exercise right away without a proper warmup.  Not only is this the case for cardio exercise but mainly resistance exercise.  Exercising on a “cold” muscle greatly will increase your chances of tear and damage.

2.  Drink plenty of water!  Believe it or not, water is the unsung hero in fat loss.  First of all fat is lost in the presence of water, meaning the chemical reaction that takes place needs water to in fact use fat as energy.  Most people overlook this really important measure but your fitness trainer should reiterate this very important concept.

3.  Stretching!  Now that you’ve put in a good sweat, it’s really important that you conclude your workout with a good stretch.  By stretching you make sure you’re not leaving a cold muscle behind.  Take the time to cool down properly and you’ll be sure to enjoy a great workout and a safe one too!

You can also find a lot of great stretching and warmup exercise products through retail stores like Sports Authority or other online retailers.  Also you can consult with your fitness professional including personal trainers in Delray Beach, and all over South Florida.
